Old Medicine

06 Sep

Still no real internet. There is an unsecured wireless signal I can use, but it’s slow and I don’t want to steal too much bandwidth. So again, my research is going to be limited, but I’ll try to present something nice. Hopefully this should clear up by Saturday and I can go back to the longer, more in depth articles you guys are used to.

Anyways.

Today I’ll simply point you to a few short articles I’ve been saving about first aid and other remedies from various times and places. Hope you enjoy.

One is about a Roman-era shipwreck and it’s stash of pharmaceuticals. The second is the medicinal benefits of beer in ancient Nubia. And, finally, you might have to scroll down for this, but I think you should read up on  surgery in ancient India.
